Dr. Mark Piechocinski

Dr. Piechocinski has been with the Animal Care Center of Plainfield for 13 years having started as a kennel worker. He recently moved over the Mallard Point as the full-time managing veterinarian. He received his BS from Lewis University in 2003 and his DVM from Ross University in 2009. His clinical year of vet school was done at Louisiana State University. He has a USDA accreditation and is a member of the ISVMA, CVMA and AVMA. His main interests in medicine include internal medicine and surgery. In his leisure he enjoys rebuilding his Ford pickup truck and spending time with his dogs, Mable, a lab mix and Travis, a beagle.

April Williamson - Clinic Manager

April is the manager of Mallard Point Veterinary Clinic. She has been with Kremer Veterinary Services for 10 years, having started as a receptionist. She enjoys assisting in all surgical procedures and has loved all the people and pets she has met over the years. She enjoys yoga, playing outdoors with her dogs and watching her son’s baseball games. She has two sweet pit bulls named Leroy and Maverick, also known as DB and Bobo. They are both rescue dogs and make her laugh everyday!

Dr. Tony Kremer

Dr. Tony Kremer graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990 and has founded three scholarships at that college for veterinary students that have financial need.  He has been the owner of 9 veterinary practices and is president and co-founder of Help Save Pets an animal shelter that has adopted over 1200 animals annually into loving homes.   He is also a member of the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association Public Education Committee and has routinely appeared on NBC 5 Chicago as well as FOX Chicago and ABC 7 News.  For More Information on his media and public education work, check out DrTony.com.  He has a special interest in Orthopedic Surgery and has performed advanced knee and hip procedures as well as complicated fracture repair.  In his spare time, he loves to Motorcycle, scuba dive, and play guitar.  He has run the Chicago Marathon and is currently training for the Chicago Triathalon.   His wife, Meg has a master degree in Engineering as well as becoming a certified obedience trainer and pet groomer. She is currently the executive director of Help Save Pets.  They have 2 rescued dogs named Boots and China, a cat named Spyder, and 2 horses named Tango and Dancer.

Dr. Michael Buedel

Dr. Michael Buedel has been Chief of Staff and partner at Animal Care Center of Plainfield since 2002. He is also a partner in the four other clinics of Kremer Veterinary Services. Dr. Buedel attended University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for his undergraduate studies and majored in Biology. After graduating from the U of I in 1996, he attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Buedel graduated valedictorian of his class in 2000 and immediately began practicing at Animal Care Center. He takes pleasure in all facets of veterinary medicine, but particularly enjoys orthopedic surgery. He has learned and honed is surgical skills by attending continuing education courses in orthopedics, including an advanced masters course. He has also had opportunities to share his passion of veterinary medicine with the community by appearing on NBC 5 and going to schools to talk to children. Starting in 2008, he has sponsored a scholarship for a Ross University student with financial need who is attending the University of Illinois for their clinical year.
Dr. Buedel and his wife Jennifer, a high school teacher of 11 years, have two young daughters who keep them laughing and “on their toes”. Ten years ago they adopted a basset hound mix named Flounder from Help Save Pets and he continues to be a great joy in their lives. In his free time, Dr. Buedel loves to travel, ski, and keep up with the Chicago sports teams as much as possible.

Dr. Robert Buchanan III

Dr. Buchanan is the managing veterinarian at Mallard Point Veterinary Clinic and has been with Kremer Veterinary Services for 7 years. He is currently practicing full-time emergency medicine at CARE. He obtained his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University and attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. He is currently a member of AVMA, ISVMA, CVMA and has an AO certification in advanced orthopedics. His special interests are small animal medicine and orthopedics and greyhound medicine and racetrack injuries. When Dr. Buchanan is not busy being a vet he enjoys salmon fishing on Lake Michigan, traveling to the Caribbean and spending time with his wife and 2 sons. The Buchanan family also includes Jax, a lab mix acquired from a shelter, and Mookie a rescued cat.
